This role is to assist with the work that is carried out in the community within the Plymouth area. It involves working with vulnerable adults to help them to achieve their goals and to boost their self esteem within the group. There are various sites where we work and there is always something different to do. Many of the properties are of assisted housing where our help to keep their gardens tidy is a very worth while cause.
Training will be given, own transport is helpful but not essential. Any successful volunteer will need a DBS which is arranged by the charity. Out of pocket expenses such as travel are covered.
A charity which uses horticulture as a therapy to support adults and Children with mental health challenges .
Volunteers would need to be empathic towards those with mental health challenges, good at listening,previous knowledge of gardening would help. Good at socialising.
