Description

(18+) To deliver meals on wheels to a largely elderly client group where it will be important to build and maintain relationships with the clients to better understand their needs and be able to report back client concerns so that they may be acted on.

You will be part of a friendly and helpful team who are dedicated to the well-being of people in our community and play a vital role in the connection between Social services and the client.

We are a 7 day a week service for 365 days per year and the deliveries take place between the hours of 11.00 to 13.30. The amount of volunteering that you are willing to invest and our needs will be agreed with you at the informal interview.

You will need to have access to your own car and we will reimburse you for the use of this to deliver the meals at a rate of £0.45 per mile.

This is an extremely rewarding position which on occasion can be challenging (finding your way etc). However, full support is available at all times with mobile phones provided and training given.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements

None needed at time of application. Applicants will need a DBS at enhanced level before undertaking duties (we will pay for and process this). A basic food hygiene course will be organised on your behalf.

The ability to handle cash and complete simple book work, knowledge of the Plymouth area (roads) and an understanding of issues relating to older people would all be an advantage.
