Devon Freewheelers are looking for volunteers in the Plymouth & South Hams area to help in a variety of roles.
We are looking for volunteer riders, fundraisers, call handlers and speakers.
Full training will be given for all roles within the charity.

Organisation Description

Devon Freewheelers EVS, also known as the Blood Bikes, provides a free out of hours courier service to the NHS across the whole county of Devon and beyond if needed.
The service operates between 5pm and 7am on weekdays and offers a 24 hours service on weekends and Bank Holidays. This service is provided 365 days a year.
The service is operated mainly on motorbikes by volunteers. The Blood Bikes carry whole blood, blood and other medical samples, medication, patient notes and donor breast milk for premature babies. Devon Freewheelers EVS has also recently become an approved supplier for the National Health Service Blood and Transplant Service.
Despite providing this service to thethe NHS, the charity receives no funding from either the NHS or the government, and is operated on the generosity of the general publics donations.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements

Minimum volunteer age is 18.
Riders/drivers must be over 25. With riders having an advanced certificate from either RoSPA or IAM.
